Established in London, we bring architectural expertise and a client-focused approach to every countryside residence we design. Our studio combines technical knowledge with attention to detail, creating homes that reflect the character of their surroundings and the needs of those who live in them.
Fariqu was founded in 2012 by a group of architects who shared a common goal: to design countryside homes that balance functionality with aesthetic appeal. Starting from a small office in Colebrooke Row, we have grown into a team of 15 specialists, including architects, structural engineers, and interior designers.
Our work focuses on residential projects across the Home Counties and beyond. We have completed over 180 designs, ranging from compact family homes to larger estates. Each project begins with understanding the site conditions, local planning requirements, and the client's lifestyle.
What sets us apart is our methodical approach. We conduct thorough site analysis, considering factors such as topography, sunlight orientation, and access routes. Our designs incorporate energy-efficient solutions, including proper insulation specifications, passive solar design principles, and sustainable material selection where appropriate.
Every measurement, specification, and detail in our drawings is verified. We use CAD software and conduct multiple review stages to ensure accuracy before construction begins.
We maintain open communication with clients, contractors, and planning authorities throughout the project. Regular meetings and progress updates keep everyone informed.
Our designs prioritize livability. We consider daily routines, storage needs, and future adaptability to create spaces that work for real life, not just on paper.
We incorporate thermal performance calculations, specify low-impact materials when feasible, and design for longevity to reduce the environmental footprint of each home.
We provide architectural services for countryside homes that meet building regulations, respect local character, and serve the practical needs of residents. Our process includes site surveys, planning application support, detailed construction drawings, and coordination with building control. We aim to deliver projects on schedule and within budget, while maintaining clear communication at every stage.
We see a future where countryside architecture balances modern living standards with environmental responsibility. Our goal is to expand our expertise in low-energy design and work with emerging construction technologies. We want to be recognized for reliability, technical competence, and designs that age well. By 2030, we aim to have all our projects achieve EPC rating B or higher through careful planning and specification.

Learn MoreWe combine technical expertise with creative vision to deliver homes that exceed expectations. Our approach ensures every project reflects your lifestyle while meeting construction standards.
Each design begins with understanding how you live. We create floor plans that optimize space flow, incorporate natural light, and accommodate your daily routines. Our blueprints include detailed room dimensions, structural specifications, and material recommendations based on your budget and site conditions.
We handle all documentation required for planning permission in the UK. Our designs meet current Part L energy efficiency standards, structural safety codes, and accessibility requirements. This includes fire safety provisions, ventilation calculations, and drainage plans that satisfy local authority requirements across Greater London and the Home Counties.
Before drawing begins, we assess your plot's topography, soil type, and orientation. This determines foundation requirements, drainage solutions, and optimal building placement. We identify constraints like tree preservation orders, easements, or covenant restrictions that affect design options in areas from Surrey to Buckinghamshire.
Our plans incorporate insulation strategies, window positioning, and heating systems that reduce running costs. We specify U-values for walls, roofs, and glazing that exceed minimum standards. Options include solar panel provisions, heat pump compatibility, and passive design principles that work with the British climate.
Detailed drawings and specifications help contractors provide accurate quotes. We include material schedules, fixture lists, and construction method notes that prevent costly variations during the build. Our phased approach allows you to prioritize essential elements and defer optional features if needed.
We design with flexibility in mind. Structural layouts accommodate potential extensions, loft conversions, or room reconfigurations without major alterations. This includes positioning load-bearing walls, allowing for staircase additions, and pre-planning service routes for future bathrooms or kitchens as your household needs change.
Clear technical drawings reduce misunderstandings during construction. We provide sections showing wall buildups, junction details, and waterproofing methods. Our specification documents cover materials from bricks to roof tiles, helping builders source correct products. We remain available during the build phase to clarify design intent and review contractor queries.
